Watch the official Newcastle 3 Brentford 1 match highlights below.
A match where Newcastle United dominated from the start, taking the lead after only nine minutes and never looking back.
Two brilliant strikes from Sandro Tonalo and what an all round performance as well from the man of the match.
In truth, the Brentford goal led a charmed life.
United could have easily scored twice as many goals, as Flekken was saved by the woodwork twice, as well as any number of shots flashing just the wrong side of the post with the Brentford keeper well beaten.
Only once the game was lost did the visitors show anything approaching a threat, Dubravka making a good save from Wissa before then eventually in added time, the Brentford striker getting a consolation strike.
Watch all the goals AND the celebrations.
See for yourselves.
