Ruben Amorim is fighting to change Manchester United's fortunes and has swiftly implemented three 'bans' to shake things up at Old Trafford.
Just a month into his role as head coach, Amorim has already got a feel for the mammoth task he's taken on. His record so far is a mixed one, with three wins, two losses, and a draw in both league and European competitions, with United still slumped in 13th place in the Premier League table.
But after securing a morale-boosting win in the Manchester derby, the 39-year-old coach is on a mission to transform United, introducing a series of strict rules - or 'non-negotiables' - as the team heads into a hectic winter schedule.
One of his first major moves was to prohibit complex instructions from his coaching staff. The Portuguese boss is adamant that if an idea can't be conveyed in a single sentence, it needs to be simplified before being passed on.This has been crucial as he's transitioned the squad to a new 3-4-3 formation, unfamiliar to many of his players. Amorim's clear communication and attention to detail have resonated well with the team, who appreciate the "clarity" he brings and his commitment to their understanding of his tactics.

He's also tackled a persistent issue head-on. During November's international break, there was a buzz about Marcus Rashford and Casemiro flying to the US amid the season, despite only having a short rest period, reports the Mirror.
The pair were under the spotlight for their international break jaunts, with Rashford heading to an NBA game in New York and Casemiro enjoying a trip to Disney World. United had faced questions from club legend Gary Neville over the issue.Amorim, who had limited squad options during the last break due to international commitments, expressed understanding but laid down the law for future breaks. He said: "Would I set a different structure? Yes, for sure. But we cannot put this on the players.

"They told them they have five days off so they can fly anywhere. Because nobody in the club says you cannot fly. So we cannot, this time, put that on Rash or Case."
Amorim also outlined his plans to tighten up the rules, saying: "We as a club have to set the standards and manage that. It's my decision if they can have five days, or three days, or three days to rest and you cannot fly. This is something that us as a club have to decide. So this must be started in the club, with us and me being responsible in that area."ESPN reports Amorim has now introduced a strict third new policy: no food in the dressing room on matchdays. The measures, while demanding, underline Amorim’s commitment to establishing discipline at Old Trafford.
