Moshiri’s eight-and-a-half years at Goodison Park officially concluded with Thursday’s announcement of [**The Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club**](http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/everton-fc/55307-friedkin-group-become-everton-new-owners-dan-friedkin-farhad-moshiri/).
The British-Iranian billionaire took control of the Blues in February 2016 but saw his tenure blighted by a succession of on and off-field mistakes throughout that time.
He also presided over several failed takeover bids with one from 777 Partners allowed to run until last summer, when the Friedkins emerged as potential suitors.
But Moshiri believes that the new owners, whose bid for his 94.1% majority shareholding was approved this week, represent the best fit for the club’s future.
He said: “I truly believe that the transaction with The Friedkin Group is the best outcome for the club and its future success.
“Despite a challenging geopolitical backdrop, a significant amount has been achieved over the last couple of years including the delivery of a new sporting department, the stabilisation of our finances and the delivery of our iconic new stadium.
“I now hand over to new owners confident in the outlook for the club and that our incredible fans will see the success on the pitch that they so thoroughly deserve.”
