Arsenal still survives in the Premier League race, but the Viktor Gyokeres deal was a setback at the weekend. Arteta’s comments may surprise you.
CONDITION OF THE GUNNERS
As we can see, Arsenal can be said to have a bit of a breakpoint in the middle of a title race.
They drew against Everton this weekend. Following it was the Reds’ self-draw against Fulham at Anfield. It is infact can be said that both the teams are drawing and trying to maintain their gap as far as possible.
Only more signings in the coming transfer window can solve the gap. And in this case, the Gunners have a lot of upper hand in the signings and deals.
Viktor Gyokeres is one of those names who can be said to be in the discussion of the transfer market.
You can deliberately say that this weekend has not been very kind to the Gunner fans. After having a good run on the title race, many were hoping for a roundabout performance by Mikel Arteta’s squad. But Arsenal are back in their original form.
It is surely not looking very good for them at this very particular moment. Unfortunately, as the transfer window closes by, it can be said that some Arsenal players can be out on the way out in January.
And the Gyokeres case also seems to be closing in Arsenal’s mind.
VIKTOR GYOKERES IS NOT MADE FOR ARSENAL
The Gunners may not see this striker they wanted so much. But, currently it can be said that things have taken a turn.
Former Premier League player Troy Deeney said he is not a natural striker. He says that he might not be the player Arsenal needs now.
The Sporting CP striker is a good player, but not a natural striker. He also claims that he is not going to take either of these two teams Arsenal and Liverpool.
Because if they did win the Premier League, they would have already bought him.
And, also overall, Arsenal can be harsh on newcomers. As a prime example, Raheem Sterling, the Chelsea-loaned man has been not so in touch with the entire squad.
Arteta has already said about him that he is not taking any risks in injuries and avoiding the ones.
So, the chapter of Gyokeres is closed in the Gunners’ book. But, there will be others to fill in the boots of Arteta’s squad.
AUTHOR’S OPINION
I think claiming Gyokeres is not a natural striker is underwhelming. He is a terrific striker.
He needs more time and a better atmosphere to show his impact, one of which can be Manchester United where he can reunite with his boss Ruben Amorim.
Or, he can explore the Spanish giants such as Barcelona. They are eager to buy a striker well worthy of good potential in the upcoming transfer.
This transfer window is going to decide which team will improve and which will decline.
Arsenal have already lost their best shot at getting Gyokeres but they failed. It can be high time for the Gunners to buckle and seriously make some serious decisions.
The competition is getting more and more engaging as Liverpool and Arsenal have started to show their true form and lose their composure towards the end of the season.
Moreover, Chelsea, on the other hand, is taking this opportunity at its best. They are trying to wait for Liverpool to make one small mistake and it will be easier for the Chelsea squad to march on.
Meanwhile, Pep’s Manchester City are on the verge of a breakdown as they have already lost 8 games in their last 11 matches. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are in the race for the title and will be looking forward to the transfer window.
