Sean Dyche will see his job safe for the foreseeable future at Everton as The Friedkin Group complete their takeover of the club, according to David Anderson.

The Mirror journalist posted on X [19 December] to report that the full focus of the club is to ensure Premier League survival ahead of the summer move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Dyche has currently overseen an upturn in form which has yielded four clean sheets from the Toffees’ last five games, positioning the club three points above the drop zone with a game in hand on their rivals.

Everton to stick with Dyche after TFG takeover

A new era officially began on Merseyside on Thursday morning, as Everton announced the formal completion of the purchase of the club by The Friedkin Group (TFG).

Farhad Moshiri, whose ownership initially appointed Dyche back in January 2023, penned an open letter to supporters as he sells his 94.1 percent majority share and bows out of Goodison Park.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

TFG have shown themselves to be ruthless in their recent footballing operations, with their exploits with Serie A giants Roma witnessing two managerial sackings already this season – including club icon Daniele de Rossi.

Dyche had every right to be worried but the club need as smooth a transitional process as possible, which putting the manager on the chopping block was hardly going to achieve. The former Burnley and Watford boss has all the nous to keep the Toffees in the Premier League, the key aim heading into the new stadium.

What the new owners decide to do in the summer is another matter, once ambitions and a strategy timeline are reassessed and conversations are held with Dyche and his staff.

But for now, it appears to be all systems go at Goodison to sign off the old home on a positive note.
