Report: The Friedkin Group’s current stance on Sean Dyche’s future as Everton takeover confirmed

Everton have just been taken over by the Friedkin Group, who have acquired Farhad Moshiri’s majority stake in the club.

Everton announced the Friedkin’s takeover on Thursday morning, ending a chaotic three-month process since agreeing a deal with Moshiri in September.

The American investors, who also own Roma, are expected to get straight to work and have a number of key decisions in the pipeline.

Sporting director Kevin Thelwell is on thin ice and could be replaced by former Manchester United chief Dan Ashworth in the new year.

And, perhaps the most important decision of all, is deciding what to do with Sean Dyche; do they change him mid-season or wait until his contract expires in the summer?

Well, i News have just issued the Friedkin Group’s latest stance on Dyche’s future after two positive results against Wolves and Arsenal.

Sean Dyche’s future at Everton remains uncertain

The i News have reported that Sean Dyche’s future at Everton remains uncertain.

The Friedkin’s have been carrying out due diligence in the background while the takeover process unfolded.

Everton News previously reported that Dyche is likely to leave in the new year as they eye Sergio Conceicao and Graham Potter, amongst others, as his potential replacement.

The report further notes that the new ownership have not yet spoken to Dyche, so there have been no assurances made about his position.

Though, after picking up a point on the road against Arsenal on the weekend, which followed a 4-0 win over Wolves, it’s unlikely Dyche will be immediately sacked.

The Friedkin Group should stick with Dyche for now

Everton fans have urged the club to sack Dyche for weeks, though, those cries have dampened in recent weeks.

Dyche seems to have turned a corner and defensively, his side have returned to their usual best, keeping four clean sheets in their last five games.

So sacking Dyche right now just wouldn’t make any sense, unless there was a rush to appoint a better manager before their relegation rivals.

Southampton are on the hunt for a new manager whilst West Ham United could be if the under-pressure Julen Lopetegui is sacked.
