Jude Bellingham was right about Jobe at Sunderland all along as Real Madrid ponder sensational…

The Bellingham brothers may one day be playing in the same team. Right now though, Jobe is trying to get Sunderland out of the Championship.

It was Jobe Bellingham‘s goal that completed Sunderland’s stunning comeback against Swansea City last weekend, marking the 19-year-old’s third goal and also his third assist of the campaign so far.

In the build up to January, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have been linked with Bellingham who remains under contract at the Stadium of Light until 2028.

There’s other teams in the mix too, with Brentford keeping tabs on Bellingham at Sunderland and likely a horde of other unnamed sides as well.

But football fans are going crazy over a possible Bellingham reunion at Madrid in January, with Jobe’s older brother Jude Bellingham having lifted yet another piece of silverware in Spain on Wednesday night.

The Galacticos won the Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday, adding another trophy to Bellingham’s rapidly growing collection since moving to the Bernabeu in 2023.

Jude Bellingham was right about Jobe all along, Sunderland ace was destined to shine

Last season, Jobe Bellingham has his critics at Sunderland. On the whole though, he enjoyed a good first season in senior football, and he’s looked a much-improved player this time round.

He’ll always have the Jude comparisons to deal with and that’s likely set the bar a lot higher for himself than it was for Jude when he was playing in the Championship.

But speaking on his personal documentary series on YouTube before the start of the 2024/25 season, Jude Bellingham revealed just how good he thinks Jobe is.

He said: “The worry is that people judge him based on my achievements. But I’m really conscious of that because I know it’s something that people will always throw in his face, and it’s not fair because he’s an amazing talent, amazing player in his own right.

“People will use him as a way to have a dig at me and vice versa, so we’re almost like each other’s biggest fans but also the biggest target for each other because we care about each other so much.”

Jobe Bellingham drops veiled hint on his Sunderland future

There’s certainly been a lot of talk about Bellingham’s Sunderland future with so many top teams now taking a look at him.

But speaking after the Swansea game, Bellingham gave a hint about his future at the club, suggesting that he sees himself at Sunderland for a while longer yet.

He said: “The connection between all of us is massive, but for me personally, I just feel the fondness between the fans, and I love it. Long may it continue.”

Whether Sunderland really want to sell anyone in January, let alone Bellingham, remains to be seen. The midfielder though will just be focussed on improving his game and on fulfilling the potential that Jude knows he has.
