Former Leicester City man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been linked with a shock transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal.
Reports from the Mirror over the weekend suggested that Chelsea will listen to loan offers for the midfielder, just half a season after signing him from the Foxes for £30m. It’s also said that City have registered their interest.
But according to Caughtoffside, Arsenal are favourites to complete a deal with Chelsea for the 26-year-old.
Meanwhile, the Foxes are said to be interested in Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron. New boss Ruud van Nistelrooy wants the Paraguay forward on loan, according to The Sun. But Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has made his stance on any outgoings clear, saying: “I'd love to keep the squad together. I don't want to lose anybody, we don't have the biggest squad already so losing players would be very difficult.”
Leicester are also said to be in the frame to sign Real Valladolid’s Juma Bah. Estadio Deportivo claim the Foxes are closely watching the 18-year-old defender ahead of the January transfer window.
There is money for van Nistelrooy to spend this January should the City manager’s squad assessment show new recruits are necessary.
The City manager has previously said he discussed transfers with the hierarchy during the interview process, and has confirmed he has received assurances the finances are there to do deals.
“We had a conversation about that (transfers) in London before I signed,” van Nistelrooy said. “We spoke about that, the winter window, and also towards the summer.
“We also said that at the same time there’s no rush to do things. I agree with that. The squad is now getting opportunities to prove themselves over this month, which is a great month to work together and play together. There’s time after that to make a good assessment, when I’ve seen the players with my own eyes, and we can make decisions in January.”
