Gary Neville has never been shy to offer his honest opinion on takes on matters whilst analysing football, and Chelsea have not escaped this treatment either.
The former Manchester United man reached his peak of criticism for the Blues when they took part in the League Cup final last season against Liverpool, losing in heartbreaking circumstances.
Neville described the side as ‘billion pound bottlejobs’, a comment which left Mauricio Pochettino disagreeing but respecting Neville’s opinion.

Gary Neville feels bad for dig at David Luiz when he was at Chelsea
A Sky producer told Neville after the game that the comment was gaining serious attention, and that is ultimately one of the aims when they make these digs.
This is not a new thing either. Neville was full of criticism for David Luiz in 2011.
He referred to the Brazilian’s erratic defending as looking like he was “being controlled by a 10-year-old on a Playstation.”
It seems as if Neville has regrets over his comments aimed at Luiz, realising now that it could be a tag that doesn’t disappear from a player when he is being discussed.
He said to ‘Stick to Football’: “I wish I had not said the David Luiz line, about him being a ‘PlayStation player.’ David Luiz has never got rid of that. It’s a cheap shot really. It’s that line of humour meets cheap shot.”

Gary Neville far more impressed by Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea
Neville has been full of praise for a number of Chelsea players so far this season, with it difficult to ignore that they have been one of the best performing teams in the league.
Neville was in awe of Cole Palmer when the Blues picked up a point away to Manchester United earlier this season in a rare game where he didn’t either score or assist.
The pundit has even said he can see Chelsea winning the league in the not too distant future, although only if they replace Robert Sanchez between the sticks.
