Wolves have announced the arrival of new manager Vitor Pereira, taking over from Gary O’Neil.
Pereira signed an 18-month contract at Wolves, ending his 10-month stay in Saudi Arabia with Daniel Podence’s club, Al-Shabab.
The Portuguese arrives just in time for the Old Gold’s Premier League clash against Leicester City, throwing him straight into the action.
Chairman Jeff Shi admitted he is ‘delighted’ with Pereira’s hire, welcoming the coach to the club amid a trialling time for Wolves.

Matt Hobbs makes promise to Vitor Pereira after Wolves announcement
The decision was made to sack O’Neil after Wolves’ defeat to Ipswich Town, taking no time to identify the Englishman’s successor.
Wolves had been eyeing Periera for weeks, bringing the former Al-Shabab manager to Molineux to swiftly replace O’Neil.
Amid mass change at Compton, sporting director Matt Hobbs took the time to welcome Pereira to the club, explaining why Wolves were so attracted to his profile.
“Vitor is a highly experienced and accomplished head coach who has demonstrated his ability to succeed at the highest level,” Hobbs said, via Wolves’ official website.

“His personality, desire and leadership qualities stood out to us during this process, and we’re excited to see how he applies his expertise here at Wolves.”
Hobbs, who remains close with O’Neil, then went on to make a promise to work closely with Pereira when it comes to the January transfer window and beyond.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with Vitor and his team on a daily basis, supporting them in every way possible – from getting the maximum out of our staff at Compton, to recruitment in the upcoming transfer window – as we work together to strengthen the squad and achieve our collective goals.”
The upcoming winter transfer window is set to be a busy time for Wolves and their new manager, who will be desperate to move his squad away from the relegation zone.
Clear plan in place for Wolves in January transfer window
Pereira took training at Wolves before he was unveiled, getting stuck in straight away with his new players.
The manager will meet some familiar faces in his new squad, most prominently Joao Gomes, whom he momentarily managed at Flamengo before the midfielder joined Wolves.

While the Portuguese inherits a quality squad from O’Neil, the January transfer window will be vital, with a defender almost certain to arrive.
Wolves are expected to hand Pereira two defensive signings this winter, in a strong show of early support for the manager, who takes charge at a particularly difficult time.
For now, the 56-year-old will settle into his new surroundings, in what is an exciting hire for the Old Gold.
