'Special' Chelsea player actually has the worst big chance conversion rate in the Premier League this season

Chelsea have the best attack in the Premier League at the moment, scoring 37 goals in 16 games.

No one has managed to find the back of the net more times than Enzo Maresca‘s side, showing just how clinical they have been.

Yet one statistic shows that Chelsea could actually have a few more goals to their name. While the likes of Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke have done well in attack this season, one of the trio could be doing significantly better.

Nevertheless, they have still entertained. Former Chelsea player Frank Leboeuf has really enjoyed watching Madueke play, for example.

Noni Madueke has worst conversion rate in the Premier League

This season, Madueke has scored five goals in 15 Premier League appearances. It means that the winger is Chelsea’s third-highest scorer in the top flight, with only Palmer and Jackson having netted on more occasions.

Rank Chelsea’s top goal scorers Goals

1 Cole Palmer 11

2 Nicolas Jackson 9

3 Noni Madueke 5

4 Enzo Fernandez 3

5 Jadon Sancho/Christopher Nkunku 2

*Premier League only

Really, though, Madueke should be closer to the pair after the amount of big chances he has had.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old has a big chance conversion rate of 16.7% (10+ big chances), which is the worst in the Premier League. An area of his game to work on, then.

Chelsea believe that Madueke is “special”, and the England international has shown that at times this season. He scored a brilliant hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers back in August.

Noni Madueke’s finishing will improve

Madueke is still just 22 years of age. You would expect him to become much more clinical as he grows older.

His finishing has already arguably improved this term, with the former PSV Eindhoven star matching his tally of Premier League goals from the last campaign with plenty of time to spare.

Fine-tune it further, and Madueke will become a scarier and more dangerous attacker.
