Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing up a move for RC Lens defender Kevin Danso, with the French side determined to sell to balance their books.
That’s [according to L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/), who report that Danso is very much on the sell list at Lens and Wolves are among his suitors.
The newspaper explains that Lens sporting director Diego Lopez has been given a mandate by owner Joseph Oughourlian to balance the books and lower the wage bill at the club.
Lopez has thus made it clear to all agents that no player at the club is considered untransferable and that includes Danso.
He will be ‘on the way out’ of the club if they and him are satisfied by the proposal on the table. This could happen in January or in the summer, though, presumably depending on the offer presented by any interested parties.
Wolves are one of the sides to show an interest in him, alongside Southampton and Villarreal, although there is nothing concrete around the 26-year-old for now.
The Austrian is thinking about his future after nearly joining Roma in the summer, while Atalanta are yet to follow up their approaches either. Wolves may have some convincing to do if they do step forward given their current status in the Premier League.
It’s undeniable that a central defender needs to be on Wolves transfer list for January, though, and it seems Danso may be a name to keep an eye on thanks to Lens’ desire to sell.
