EPA-EFE/SEBASTIEN NOGIER](https://football-italia.net/balotelli-teases-donnarumma-with-facial-injury/) Mario Balotelli was one of several friends and former teammates to have teased Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma after his horrific facial injury during Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-2 win over Monaco in Ligue 1 on Wednesday evening.

“Couldn’t they have taken your nose instead,” Balotelli joked in a comment on Donnarumma’s latest Instagram post.

Plenty of other PSG, Italy and Serie A stars sent messages to the Azzurri no.1 after his injury on Wednesday night, including Milan captain Davide Calabria, who replied: “Sort of,” to Donnarumma’s original caption, which read: “All good.”

Achraf Hakimi called him a “warrior,” but teammate Fabian Ruiz and former Milan winger Samu Castillejo both joked that he “looked better” like this.

What happened to Donnarumma?

The Italy goalkeeper took the studs of Wilfred Singo’s boots straight to the face while bravely coming out to try and claim the ball on the edge of his area during Wednesday night’s Ligue 1 match between Monaco and PSG.

Singo had been trying to control a ball over the top, but his outstretched foot met Donnarumma’s cheeks, which left the ‘keeper covered in blood and requiring stitches to multiple wounds on his face.

Singo, who was already on a yellow card, escaped further punishment due to the accidental nature of the incident.
