Enzo Fernandez's ex-wife speaks out after fans come up with theory for Chelsea man's return to form

Enzo Fernandez's ex-wife has addressed her split with the Chelsea footballer as fans are certain they've figured out what has caused his recent improved form.

Having seemingly falling out of favour with new manager Enzo Maresca and missing several matches early in the season, Fernandez appears to have turned his form around recently.

The midfielder has been an essential part to the Blues seven-game win streak, scoring three goals and assisting four in this time.

And now, fans are convinced they know exactly what led to this sudden change within Fernandez, and it's a bizarre reason.

According to some fans on social media, the reason why Fernandez has improved his form has been because of his recent split with ex-wife Valentina Cervantes.

Fernandez and his influencer Cervantes met in Argentina and have two children together, but confirmed that they had parted ways in October.

Speaking about the split in a recent interview with Paparazzi, Cervantes revealed: "Everything was fine and suddenly one day he told me that he didn't want to be [with me] anymore. There are things that I still have to process, but that's it, I accepted it.

"When we met, I worked in an empanada restaurant and studied Law. He was in River Plate and then played in the reserve team. When we moved in together, I changed jobs to a call centre near the Obelisk.

"At that time I earned more than his representative gave him, we spent my entire salary, I had nothing left to save. And after 9 months I got pregnant with Olivia, I was 19 years old."

In her first interview since the split, the 24-year-old admitted that she had no hard feelings towards the Chelsea star and discussed how she was dealing with their separation.

"Everyone takes it and goes through different processes, I tried to go for the healthier side,' Cervantes told reporter Alejandro Castelo via The Daily Mail.

"I love Enzo, I would never disrespect him. He is a person who accompanied me for many years and I also accompanied him, and I will continue to accompany him.

'What he does from the day we separated onwards is his life. I'm not going to get involved and I'm going to respect the woman he chooses, as long as it's okay with my children."
