'It’s so important': Seamus Coleman already sends warning to TFG as they complete Everton…

It is the moment which Everton fans across the world have been waiting for with the club now under new ownership.

The Toffees have certainly been made to wait for this moment as The Friedkin Group were announced as their new owners on Thursday morning.

Everton have found themselves amid a relegation battle for the last few seasons with difficult times thrown at the fans.

However, there is now optimism that better times are headed their way as the Friedkins look to settle the ship on Merseyside.

A big decision has seemingly already been made as The Friedkin Group will back Everton chief Kevin Thelwell for the coming transfer windows.

But club captain Seamus Coleman has now sent the new owners a warning ahead of their time at Everton.

Seamus Coleman warns The Friedkin Group of Everton culture

The new ownership has already made a promising start as the Friedkins wanted to announce their takeover subtly.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Everton captain has admitted the new owners need to buy into the club’s culture as they have ‘unique’ fans.

“From my point of view it’s so important that you buy into what this football clubs about, it’s unique and they expect certain things from their team. Im sure the owners will eventually recognise that and buy into it,” he said.

“Its a special fan base, special city in general and they love their football here. It’s been a touch 4-5 years for Everton but fingers crossed for the fans that there is exciting times ahead.”

The Irishman has struggled this season through injury, but he remains the figurehead for this current squad having been at the club for so long.

Coleman has returned from injury but is being kept out of the side by Ashley Young as he is now fighting for the club off the field amid the takeover saga.

Everton have significant Seamus Coleman contract decision

A number of Everton players are now coming into their final months of their deals at Goodison.

Coleman is one of them and he is now finding himself out of the starting XI as Ashley Young impresses for Everton.

However, this is the type of player which The Friedkin Group could do with having around the club for their first year on Merseyside.

The Irishman knows the club better than most and his presence could be invaluable.

Of course, at the age of 36, he may not be set for a long-term deal but there would be little harm in offering the right-back a one-year extension.

Coleman remains a vocal leader at Everton and holding people inside the club accountable could prove a valuable asset for the Friedkins to begin their tenure.
