Farhad Moshiri will walk away from Everton at a significant loss after the Friedkin Group completed its takeover, according to The Athletic.
The US investment group has taken over the Blues ending the Iranian businessman’s eight-year reign as owner.
The Goodison Park club struggled significantly during Moshiri’s time in the boardroom with relegation battles, PSR breaches, and points deductions being a reoccurring theme during his tenure.
The Athletic reported on 19 December that sources close to the 69-year-old have dismissed reports that he will take away just £40 million from the deal but admitted that he will take a significant loss on his initial £800m investment.
Everton fans will be relieved Moshiri is gone
While it must be said that Moshiri did some good at Goodison Park, he secured a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and invested heavily in transfers.

The Iranian has been a controversial figure in the Blue part of Merseyside for some time now, with many supporters angry at his role in the 777 shambles.

However, he deserves some credit for keeping the club afloat and resisting the prospect of administration while a deal was eventually sorted.
Toffees supporters will be excited about a new era for the club, with less debt, a new stadium and a new man in charge of the day-to-day operation of the Blues.
Some will want to banish Moshiri to a mere footnote in the history of Everton and the idea of him losing a lot of money on a personal level will bring a smile to a lot of faces.
