Tomas Soucek could be done at West Ham after links to Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli.

The Czechia international has been a midfield stalwart and regular goalscorer at the London Stadium since joining from Slavia Prague in 2020.

The 29-year-old has remained as a regular this campaign despite Julen Lopetegui coming in to replace David Moyes during the summer.

With the Spaniard set to take charge of his second transfer window in East London, Soucek could be done if a new option comes in.

The ex-Real Madrid boss brought in Carlos Soler and Guido Rodriguez during the summer with a view to changing up the midfield ahead of his first season in the dugout.

It now appears that his vision for the middle of the park at the London Stadium isn’t finished with Fagoli now linked with a Winter move [TuttoSport].

The Hammers look set to face competition from Fulham and Crystal Palace in asking Juventus for information about the 23-year-old.

It is safe to say if the Italy international is going to switch the Old Lady for the Irons, he is going to want to play regular first-team football.

This could see the former Cremonese loanee replace Soucek as a starter alongside the likes of Rodriguez or Edson Alvarez in the heart of midfield.

It could prove to be a bold and controversial decision for Lopetegui to move the fan favourite out of the side and replace him with a young player without experience of English football.

Even if the fans may not like it to begin with, the Spaniard needs to bite the bullet and put his stamp on his side as his tenure goes on.
