The Carabao Cup semi-final draw is tonight

Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle will be joined by either Manchester United or Tottenham in the final four of the Carabao Cup this evening.

The draw for the semi-finals will take place after the last quarter-final clash between United and Spurs in north London tonight. Arsenal reached the semi-finals after a hat-trick from Gabriel Jesus ensured they beat Crystal Palace 3-2, while goals from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot earned Liverpool a 2-1 win over Southampton.

A brace from Sandro Tonali and a strike from Fabian Schar saw Newcastle book their place in the final four with a 3-1 victory over Brentford.

Amorim speaks out on Rashford snub

Amorim has claimed that overlooking Rashford has nothing to do with his recent interview, where he opened the door to a possible exit.

He said when quizzed on his forward: "Selection. I chose the players I feel are ready to cope with the demands to play a strong game."

Arsenal and Newcastle eyeing trophies

Arsenal and Newcastle might be at different steps in their development, but both will believe they can win the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners are perhaps more in need as Mikel Arteta seeks the trophy that may take his team onto greater things.

Newcastle meanwhile are looking to prove they have truly joined the big time as years of Saudi investment - and this could be the tournament that does that.

Holders still in the mix

Liverpool's success in this competition last term was Jurgen Klopp's final trophy as manager.

Arne Slot will be hoping to back up that success, but some big hitters are still in the hunt in the form of Arsenal and Tottenham.
