NEWCASTLE United will face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
The first leg will take place at the Emirates and the second at St James' Park.
The Magpies were at home in the second leg the last time they reached the semi-finals of the League Cup two seasons ago. On that occasion they faced Southampton, and although Arsenal will provide a much sterner test, the atmosphere at St James' Park will be red hot.
"That worked well for us, so let's go with that again," smiled Eddie Howe after the quarter final success against Brentford when asked whether his preference would be a second leg at St James' in the last four.
The first leg will take place on the week commencing January 6 and the second the week commencing February 3.
Tottenham will face Liverpool in the other semi-final after Ange Postecoglou's side beat Manchester United on Thursday night.
