Everton have announced that their takeover has officially been completed.
The Toffees have now been acquired by Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited, an entity within The Friedkin Group. Farhad Moshiri, who was the majority shareholder of Everton, has handed over the reins to the Americans.
The Friedkin Group, who already own Serie A giants AS Roma, have brought in a wave of excitement among Everton fans, who can’t wait to see what their new owners have in store for them.
A new manager could be on the cards at some point in the coming months, and Darren Bent has made a very big claim.
Darren Bent suggests new Everton owners could appoint Jose Mourinho
Sean Dyche has done a decent job at Everton since taking over the club.
The 53-year-old helped the Toffees avoid relegation in the 2023/24 season, and he is on course to do it again this campaign.
Some Everton fans feel that Dyche has done the job he was brought in to do, but for the club to go to the next level, they need a different manager.
The Friedkin Group’s arrival could lead to a few big changes at Everton in the coming months, and Bent has claimed that he wouldn’t be surprised if they brought Jose Mourinho to replace Dyche.
Mourinho is one of the greatest managers of all time, and even though he isn’t the man he was a few years ago, he is still capable of great things.
Bent said on talkSPORT: “The only reason why I mentioned Jose is – new stadium, going into it, big owners, statement! He spoke about wanting to come back to the Premier League.
“I just wonder… They’ve had big managers before – Ancelotti, Marco Silva, they’ve had big managers, so there’s no reason why all of a sudden, like a fresh start (they could get Mourinho).
“Do you know what? I’m telling you now, that would not surprise me one bit.”

Jose Mourinho once slammed The Freidkin Group
Mourinho has already worked under The Freidkin Group.
The 61-year-old, who has won some huge trophies over the years including the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan, spent two-and-a-half years at AS Roma, who are also owned by Everton’s new owners.
Mourinho won the UEFA Conference League with Roma, but just six months later, he was shown the door after a difficult start to the campaign.
The Portuguese tactician, as you can imagine, was far from happy and slammed Dan Freidkin and branded his sacking as ‘unfair’.
He said a month after his departure, as quoted by Everton News: “The European competitions are about to begin, in particular the Champions League, perhaps the world’s most important competition on the calendar.
“I won’t be there at these final stages, not because I have already been eliminated, but because I was ‘eliminated’ by someone who knows little about football.”
