West Ham United may consider terminating the contract of first-team ace Guido Rodriguez in January, according to Ficherio.
The Spanish outlet reported via their website (19 December) that because the Hammers want to strengthen their ranks in winter, the Argentine – who only arrived on a free transfer in the summer – could well be on his way out of the London Stadium.
Recent reports have stated that the 2022 World Cup winner is unhappy in London with the midfielder seeking a return to Real Betis (InfoRealBetis).
West Ham United shouldn’t terminate Guido Rodriguez’s contract
While Rodriguez’s time at the London Stadium hasn’t always been sunshine and rainbows since his arrival, it feels silly for the Hammers to be considering the termination of his contract.
Julen Lopetegui’s side have already been linked with countless midfielders to come in and replace him and while a replacement is likely needed, it feels as if there’s no need for Tim Steidten and co. to spend more money than what they need to.

The Argentina international has been linked with an exit for about a month now and while his performances have often left a lot to be desired, until Lopetegui can source a replacement, there’s no need for West Ham to hunt for a potential suitor as they’d leave themselves rather light in the centre of the park.
Of course, these are all just rumours at the moment but it feels like the 30-year-old is closer to an exit than he is staying, which, for a player who only just arrived in the summer, is a far from ideal situation.
