Chelsea star Marc Cucurella was part of the side that cruised to victory against Shamrock Rovers last night.
Marc Cucurella is suspended for Chelsea’s trip to Everton this weekend in the Premier League, so it wasn’t a great surprise to see the left-back start on Thursday evening.
A much-changed Blues team recorded a 5-1 win at home to Shamrock Rovers to conclude the group phase of the Conference League. Enzo Maresca’s side dominated the group stage and have qualified for the Round of 16 in March.

Marc Cucurella praises Chelsea star Marc Guiu
Cucurella, 26, delivered a glowing verdict on Chelsea teammate Marc Guiu for his midweek performance in Europe.
The 18-year-old striker seriously impressed versus Shamrock Rovers with a first Blues hat-trick. His anticipation and pressing earned him his first two goals before he guided in a header for his third.
When discussing Chelsea striker Guiu, Cucurella told Chelsea’s YouTube channel: “I think he’s a top player. He’s young as well. I think he started the season a bit nervous and with this energy that he wants to score, but with time he can understand the players and understand this football. It’s about time. We’re very happy for him.”
Maresca admits Chelsea’s Guiu is unhappy with his lack of mintues, but the youngster’s managed to make his mark in the club’s European campaign so far.
The teenage centre-forward scored six goals in six games in the Conference League group phase.
