Manager TFG sacked at Roma set for Premier League move just days after Everton takeover - Romano

There is a lot of cause for excitement at Everton following their takeover being announced on Thursday, but there is still an ongoing relegation battle.

Sean Dyche’s side have shown more promising signs in recent weeks with a big win over Wolves and an unexpected point on the road to Arsenal.

However, Everton are still in a difficult position in the table and could find themselves in the bottom three for Christmas.

But there will be optimism across the board at Everton with The Friedkin Group sharing their excitement over finally getting the keys on Merseyside.

It is not just at Goodison Park where change is happening in the Premier League with Southampton now set to make a new manager hire.

The 49-year-old was sacked by The Friedkin Group just last month with AS Roma leaving a lot to be desired in Serie A.

A deal between the Saints and the Croatian manager is believed to be ready to signed with the manager set to take on his first Premier League role.

Big questions lie over the future of the current manager at Goodison with Dyche expected to leave Everton at the end of the season.

Avoiding relegation will be the goal for the season and it will be interesting to see if Juric has anything to say about The Friedkin Group when he is announced to the press.

Ivan Juric’s Roma tenure left a lot to be desired

Roma’s 2024/25 campaign has been a testing one with the Italian giants slumped in the bottom half of the table.

Juric only oversaw 12 games having been appointed in September and sacked in November as his record really failed to impress.

The Friedkin Group are set to back Kevin Thelwell as their director of football to help kickstart their life at Everton.

And they will have the perfect opportunity to do so with the January transfer window set to open in a matter of days.

They will now just be hoping a familiar face does not come back to bite them.
