Barcelona have been linked with Joshua Kimmich consistently over the past year, and it looked like the emergence of Marc Casado had edged them away from pursuing a midfielder. However manager Hansi Flick is still keen on bringing in his former player for both Bayern Munich and Germany.
That is according to German insider Christian Falk, as he explained to The Daily Briefing. Falk explains that Kimmich is most likely to stay at Bayern, but is open to hearing out other offers. Another former coach in Pep Guardiola is a candidate to take him to Manchester City, but Kimmich is to Flick’s liking, and he would consider an offer from Barcelona.

Recent reports in Spain have reported that Barcelona’s priorities for next summer are likely to be more focused on full-backs and a left winger next summer. However Kimmich is available as a free agent, and if they do decide to move on the likes of Frenkie de Jong, the Germany international could make sense as a replacement in the squad.
