Juventus are in the market for a new central defender and they have added Fikayo Tomori to their list of targets, a report claims.
Tuttosport are reporting this morning that Juventus have entered an emergency when it comes to their options in the centre of defence, given the long-term injuries that Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal have suffered. Manuel Locatelli has even offered his services to play that role.
The eyes of the management are cast towards David Hancko of Feyenoord, but he is more an option for the summer than for January even if Cristiano Giuntoli is trying to bring the deal forward by a few months. Feyenoord, though, are looking for €30m to sell.
The Bianconeri are thus following alternative paths and this is where Tomori comes in. The Turin-based paper describes it as ‘another Kalulu-style opportunity’, taking advantage of the difficulties that the Englishman is going through.
Tomori has been sidelined by Fonseca who now prefers the Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thiaw pairing then Strahinja Pavlovic as an alternative. It is a situation that has ‘annoyed’ the ex-Chelsea man,who is ‘now increasingly willing to consider a change of team‘.
There are many doubts in Milan’s mind, though. Firstly they have seen Kalulu slot into the starting XI of a rival and want to avoid that happening again, secondly a loan seems unlikely and thirdly they would have to sign a replacement for Tomori.
