Andy Goldstein has raised a “problem” the Premier League may now face after The Friedkin Group completed its takeover at Everton.
The Farhad Moshiri era at Goodison Park is finally at an end, much to the joy of supporters and former players alike.
The Friedkins, whose first big call at Goodison Park may soon become obvious, are the 10th American owners at current Premier League clubs.
And speaking live on talkSPORT [19 December, 4:08pm], presenter Goldstein explained why that may pose a problem down the line.
“What I do think will happen, we’re at 10 [American owners] now and if it gets to 14 that’s a majority vote when things need to be changed,” he said.

“The question will be, if we get to 14 or 15 American owners in the Premier League, will they push for that 39th game abroad in America? That’s the problem.”
Who are the American owners in the Premier League?
Texas-based Friedkins now own 98.8 per cent of Everton and become the latest American owners in the Premier League.
They join fellow Americans in situ at Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Ipswich, Liverpool and Manchester United.
The Premier League is the most lucrative football division in the world and is clearly a major draw to the world’s richest people, many of whom are American.
As for the concern Goldstein raises, it should certainly not be brushed under the carpet entirely.
Everton fans will not care about what could happens years from now; instead it is a time for celebrating – albeit perhaps not for Dyche.

No UK-based supporter wants to see a 39th game added and played abroad, with that possibility first mooted more than a decade ago.
It is true that the closer it gets to the Americans having a majority say, the more likely it is for that to happen. Let’s just hope that is never the case.
In other Everton news, the takeover is already in full swing amid a development involving the women’s side.
