Arsenal have been advised to explore a potential move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, who could reportedly be available during the January transfer window.
The Gunners have been linked with several forward options in recent transfer windows, but manager Mikel Arteta has yet to secure a marquee striker in his five years at the helm. While Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus offer versatility and technical quality, Arsenal may need a more clinical presence upfront to boost their chances of winning a first Premier League title in over two decades.

According to football journalist Dean Jones on the Ranks FC Podcast, Newcastle might be open to selling Isak amid an unsettled period at the club. “Alexander Isak, this is the time to go for him,” said Jones. “He shouldn’t be gettable, but I’m told he is. Newcastle are just not settled right now. There’s a vulnerability about their squad, and a few of their top players might be available when they shouldn’t be.”

Isak, who joined Newcastle for £60 million, has been in fine form this season. The Swedish international has seven goals and four assists in 14 Premier League matches, including a goal in the Carabao Cup. His recent performances have been particularly impressive, with five direct goal involvements in his last three appearances.

Jones also pointed out that Isak’s current wages, reportedly around £100,000 per week, make him a potentially attractive option for Arsenal. “I would trust Isak in this Arsenal system way more,” he added, comparing Isak’s reliability to other potential targets like Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
While a deal for Isak in January remains speculative, Arsenal’s ambitions to strengthen their attack could align with the opportunity to sign one of the Premier League’s most promising forwards. Whether Newcastle are willing to part ways with Isak midseason, however, remains to be seen.
