"I feel like there's a twist in this" – Gary Neville predicts who among Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal will now win Premier League

Manchester United great Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to end their two-decade-long wait for a Premier League title at the end of the ongoing season, beating Liverpool and Chelsea.

The Gunners, who are hoping to be third time lucky this season, are six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand. Mikel Arteta's outfit are in third spot with 30 points from 16 league matches so far.

During a chat on It's Called Soccer, Neville shared his thoughts on Liverpool and claimed that Arsenal can challenge Arne Slot's side in the second half of the campaign. He said (h/t TBR):

"There's no doubt [Liverpool are] the best team at this moment in time, but it feels to me like they will hit a patch and Arsenal haven't hit their form yet. I feel like there's a twist in this. Because you do turn your form at some point when you're a team like that and Arsenal's form will turn if they can get within a few points."

Neville, who won eight Premier League titles as a player, added:

"And if they go on a run, I think they'll win it, that's my honest view. But at the moment, Chelsea and Liverpool are better, there's no doubt. I think they'll hit their form, they've got a decent run of fixtures over Christmas. I think they'll get within a few points and they'll hit their form in the new year. I do think they'll win the league this season."

While the Reds are on 36 points now, Chelsea are second in the Premier League table with 34 points from 15 matches. Chelsea have scored more goals than any other top-flight side and have lost just two league games this campaign.

How have Arsenal fared so far this season?

The Gunners emerged as a serious title challenger in the 2022-23 season as they achieved a second-place finish with 84 points. They also challenged Manchester City last campaign but finished on 89 points, two behind the Cityzens.

Mikel Arteta's side opened the 2024-25 season on an excellent note, remaining unbeaten for 10 games across competitions. However, they hit a slump in form as they lost three out of six matches in all competitions six weeks ago.

Now, Arsenal are on a nine-match unbeaten run. They will hope to extend their good form as they are next set to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Saturday (December 21).
