Jamie Carragher believes Sean Dyche will leave Everton at the end of the season after The Friedkin Group takeover on Thursday.
The Englishman’s current contract at the Toffees expires in the summer, and Carragher feels the Friedkins will look to hire a new manager for next season.
Dyche is expected to remain in the Goodison dugout in the coming months, and Carragher has predicted that the 53-year-old head coach will keep the Blues in the Premier League before moving on.
Speaking on Sky Sports [19 December], Carragher said: “I don’t think there’s any chance whatsoever, and there shouldn’t be, of Dyche not managing them this season.
“He will keep them up. He knows what he’s doing, he’ll get enough clean sheets, he’ll get enough wins at home, at Goodison, to keep them in the division.

“But I do think with the new owners and the new stadium, they will probably go for a new manager next because Dyche’s contract runs out in the summer anyway. I think he’ll keep them in the Premier League and leave at the end of the season.”
Sean Dyche will be let go by The Friedkin Group at Everton
Dyche made his way to Goodison in January 2023 when the Merseyside outfit were at risk of being relegated, and the English manager helped keep them up.
The 53-year-old head coach did a decent job last season, and despite their two points deductions, the Toffees survived the drop again.
While the supporters value what Dyche has done in the past, his inability to make any progress this season has been frustrating.
Everton are 16th in the Premier League, three points above the relegation zone, highlighting the need to change to really kick on in this new era.
The Goodison faithful have also been unimpressed with the 53-year-old head coach’s style of play and would not be bothered if he were sacked.
Given the Blues’ predicament, Dyche seems like the best option to keep their Premier League status intact, and TFG would be wise to wait before getting rid of him.
In other Everton news, the Friedkins will increase their stake after the completion of the takeover.
