Barcelona reached an agreement with Nike over a new contract after months of rift earlier this year and the new terms of the deal ensured that the Catalans earned better financial terms.
The next step after formally closing the agreement, however, is the ratification of the deal by the club’s members and the board thus convened an Extraordinary General Assembly for the same.
As revealed earlier this month, the special assembly is scheduled for tomorrow and will be held at 11 AM. The only topic on the agenda is to approve the newly agreed deal.
Confidentiality will be maintained
The Statutes of Barcelona stipulate that any external sponsorship attracted by the club must be discussed and ratified by the members of the assembly.
However, SPORT reveals that Barcelona will not be able to reveal the details of the deal tomorrow owing to confidentiality.
All that is known is that the contract comprises three aspects – a renewal bonus, a fixed sponsorship every year, and a variable sun that depends on the titles won.

Details of the contract
Further, the contract will be self-improving year on year between 10-15% so as to adjust to the inflation. Notably, the men’s and the women’s teams will receive the same incentives for titles.
All in all, Barcelona can receive up to €1.7 billion up to 2038, with the signing bonus said to be worth around €150 million – which will be pro-rated across the 14 years.
It is also notable that the contract until 2028 will improve annually by close to €45 million while it will improve by €60 million from 2028 to 2038.
Information to this point is known through leaks but nothing beyond this will come to light tomorrow during the discussions and the ratification must go through regardless.
After all, Barcelona need the deal to be approved for La Liga to officially take it into account and help them get closer to the 1:1 rule at the earliest.
