Sean Dyche is set to meet up with new Everton executive chairman Marc Watts after The Friedkin Group’s takeover was completed, according to Alan Myers.
The journalist reported via his personal X account (20 December) that the Friedkin’s are readying themselves to get “straight down to work” after their takeover of the Toffees was finalised on Thursday.
Reports have already shared that few changes are expected to take place at Goodison Park for the moment but this meeting will no doubt give Dyche a better idea of where he stands with the new owners.
“Executive Chairman Marc Watts expected to hold a meet and greet opportunity with manager Sean Dyche and other staff at Everton today as TFG get straight down to work following their takeover at Everton and ahead the first game of their ownership on Sunday v Chelsea,” Myers wrote.

While Everton aren’t in the drop zone just yet, the fact they only have a three-point cushion between themselves and the bottom three is no doubt a cause for concern.

Granted, the takeover has been something that has been looming over the heads of all those involved with the club due to the amount of take it’s taken to complete but that doesn’t excuse the poor performances of the players.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is just one of the many examples of a Toffees player not living up to expectations this season.
The Englishman is supposed to be the Merseyside outfit’s talisman but instead, he’s sometimes been the reason Everton haven’t come away from games with points.
If Dyche wants to keep his role as manager and try to prosper under the new ownership, he’s going to have to figure out a way to get the Toffees to consistently perform to a high standard otherwise it feels likely that he’ll be replaced upon the expiry of his contract this season.
It’s still early days into the new ownership of course but with The Friedkin Group seemingly already getting down to business, it feels like this could be the start of a new life for the blue half of Merseyside.
