Arsenal have taken a young Wolverhampton Wanderers on trial in the last week, with the youngster reportedly already training with the Gunners’ first team.
The Evening Standard have reported that Lennon Patterson, a teenage left-back for Wolverhampton Wanderers, is the player who was pictured on trial with Arsenal last week.
According to the outlet, the 17-year-old has not only played a game for the Gunners’ U21 side, but has also already been given the opportunity to train with the club’s first team this week while on trial.

Patterson operates primarily as a left-back and is considered by those who know him as a very exciting up-and-coming prospect – and he has attracted interest from clubs, including Arsenal, as a result of this.
One person with knowledge of Patterson told NowArsenal: “I’ve watched Patterson play for Wolves Academy for a few years now, and throughout the squad he has been consistent in the left-back position.
“One performance that springs to mind was against Chelsea U17’s last season in a cup final, his positioning for his age shows immense maturity. Going forward, he is exciting to watch, quick and can deliver teasing balls into the box.”

It was also reported by the Evening Standard that Sheffield United are also interested in the teenager, with the Blades also being given permission by Wolverhampton Wanderers to speak to the young defender.
If a move materialises, Patterson would not be the only player to join Arsenal from Wolverhampton Wanderers in recent times, with then-16-year-old Brayden Clarke making the switch back in March of this year – before signing his first professional contract with the Gunners in July.
Arsenal youth expert Jeorge Bird said: “Patterson demonstrated that he is a good crosser of the ball, although he seems more suited to playing as a wing-back than an orthodox left-back,” on Patterson’s appearance for the Gunners’ U21 side, in a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland where he played 45 minutes.
