Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has admitted that he and his staff are yet to come to a final decision on the plan to replace Lamine Yamal in the club’s line-up to face Atlético Madrid.
Barca, of course, are primed to play their part in the headline fixture of the La Liga weekend, on Saturday night.
A showdown with the in-form Atlético Madrid lies in wait, pitting the two sides sitting joint-top of the table against one another in the final round of fixtures heading into the festive break.
Barcelona, for their part, will be forced to make do without a leading member of the club’s frontline for the clash, Lamine Yamal having been ruled out with an ankle injury suffered last weekend.
In the days leading up to the fixture, much of the chatter in Catalunya’s capital has therefore surrounded how exactly the Blaugrana are likely to cover for the loss of such an integral figure.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, the subject of as much was therefore put to Hansi Flick himself.
And Barca’s headmaster was keen not to give too much away with his response, explaining:
“We have many players who can replace Lamine Yamal, but we haven’t made a final decision yet.”
