Marcus Rashford has been omitted from the last two Man Utd squads under head coach Ruben Amorim.

The 27-year-old was dropped from the United squad for their Manchester derby victory over Man City last weekend and also missed out on any involvement in their Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham on Thursday night.

Amorim has reiterated Rashford still has a future at the club and that his omissions have purely been down to 'selection' purposes rather than any disciplinary matter. The United forward sparked further speculation of an impending exit when he revealed he felt 'ready for a new challenge' in his career earlier this week.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the under fire Rashford but his actions have been defended by both Arsenal great Ian Wright and former United teammate Sancho.

In an Instagram post shared on X, Wright wrote: "I got to Arsenal at 28, but you expect ME to write off someone with the ability Marcus has at 27!!!! So many of you are desperate to see these young people fail so that you can say you were right! You would take 1% of the career Marcus has had!"

Chelsea loanee Sancho not only shared the post on his own official X account but he also replied to the post with a speaking head emoji and the 100 points symbol, to indicate he fully agreed with the message.

Earlier in the day, Amorim reiterated Rashford would be considered for selection when United face Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend and insisted nothing had changed with his situation this week. Asked if Rashford could be involved, he added: "Yes of course. It is the same thing. It will be the same thing."
