Ipswich Town have announced their plans to develop the car park behind the Sir Alf Ramsey stand.
The club have said that the plans that have been submitted to the borough council will mean that the car park will have 168 spaces in the future.
Work is expected to begin in 2025, should the application be approved.
The spaces will be reserved for external broadcasters and club staff, with six electric vehicle charging points also being installed.
The development will also involve the modification of the entry and exit point to the car park on Chancery Road.
Seventeen spaces will be returned to the Travelodge hotel and a separate entry and exit point in Russell Road for hotel guests.

As part of the work, the temporary hoardings that are currently in place will be removed.
This will help to create a more open car park with clearer access points for both vehicles and pedestrians, according to the club.
Ipswich Town acquired the land behind the stand in [March 2022](https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/23493171.ipswich-town-demolition-portman-road-stand-begins/) and the [former Staples building](https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/23592436.ipswich-staples-now-fully-demolished-near-portman-road/) which had been located there since the 1990s was demolished last year.
The Sir Alf Ramsey Stand, originally known as the South Stand, was rebuilt in the early 2000s following the club’s promotion to the Premier League and qualification for the UEFA cup after a fifth place finish in 2001.
In 2012, it was renamed after the legendary Ipswich and England manager who led the club to the third division title in 1957, second division title in 1961 and first division title in 1962.
Ipswich Town have also said that they expect a separate application to be submitted in the coming days for temporary facilities at the club's Playford Road training ground.
These facilities will help to support the larger development of the training ground and help to consolidate the category one status held by the club’s academy.
