The Friedkin Group have completed an Everton takeover and officials will be present for the Premier League fixture
Sean Dyche has provided an Everton injury update ahead of the Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday.
The Blues play their first game since the takeover of The Friedkin Group was confirmed. There will be optimism among supporters and a fervent atmosphere expected around Goodison Park.
Dwight McNeil was absent for last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Arsenal. The forward has had an ongoing knee issue and was not spotted in training earlier this week. Dyche has admitted that McNeil is ‘touch and go’ to face Chelsea.
Meanwhile, James Garner (back) and Tim Iroegbunam (stress) have been sidelined since October. They are still not ready to return to training. Dyche said at his pre-match press conference: “Jimmy and Tim are behind the curve. They are making progress so that is good. It’s not going to be a quick process but are on the grass. They are beginnign soft steps back towards fitness.
“Dwight will be touch and go. He has a niggly knee, we are being careful but will have to wait and see.”
Armando Broja is ruled out as he is on a season-long loan from Chelsea and cannot face his parent club. Stanley Mills is back first-team training after suffering a knee injury almost a year ago. However, it is likely to need under-21 minutes
