West Ham believe they have found an “ideal replacement” for Mohammed Kudus in Atalanta’s Charles De Ketelaere, according to reports.
Caught Offside claim that the Hammers are lining up an approach for the Belgian international ahead of the January transfer window
Atalanta are believed to be demanding around £40m for De Ketelaere, who has impressed since making the move to the Europa League winners last year.

The 23-year-old originally made the switch from AC Milan on loan but the deal was made permanent in July after he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 50 appearances.
This season, De Ketelaere has proven to be a pivotal figure once again, having racked up 8 goals and 9 assists in 23 matches so far, helping Atalanta to the top of the Serie A table, as well as 13th place in the Champions League group phase.
Why are West Ham looking to replace Kudus?
Although the Ghanian may not depart the London Stadium in January, the club are aware that they may not be able to keep hold of him for much longer.
Kudus has a release clause in his contract that means he can leave next summer if a team pays £85m. There are several suitors keeping an eye on his situation.
There will be competition for De Ketelaere
Due to the Belgian’s form, it is not a surprise that the Irons will have to battle other teams for his signature. Caught Offside report that Liverpool, in particular, hold strong interest in the player.
However, it is said that Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also keeping close tabs on De Ketelaere.
As a consequence, Julen Lopetegui’s side face an uphill task if they do want to sign the attacking midfielder next month.
