Debbie Hewitt reappointed as FA Chair

Debbie Hewitt MBE, Independent Non-Executive Chair of The FA

The FA Board has unanimously agreed for Debbie Hewitt MBE to be reappointed as Independent Non-Executive Chair of The FA for a second three-year term, from January 2025 through to January 2028.

The decision is subject to FA Shareholder ratification, which will be sought at the 2025 AGM in May.

Debbie was first appointed as FA Chair in January 2022 on an initial three-year term and she was the unanimous choice of a seven-member selection panel.

During her time as Chair, Debbie has had a transformative impact on our governance structure, including introducing extensive reforms to the FA Board and FA Council to ensure they can better serve the modern game, as well as working with stakeholders to improve the governance structures that support the women’s game.

FA Board members Jobi McAnuff and Mark Esiri, who both became Independent Non-Executive Directors in May 2022, will also be eligible for reappointment by the Board and then by shareholders at the AGM in May.

Tim Score will complete his third and final three-year term as Chair of the Group Audit & Risk Committee in October 2025 and so will step down from both the Committee and Board.
