It’s been a season of misery for Wolves but supporters are hoping the appointment Vitor Pereira can inspire fresh optimism at Molineux.
Pereira signed a 1.5-year contract at Wolves on Thursday, replacing Gary O’Neil in the dugout.
The Portuguese joins in difficult circumstances with the club in 19th position but the 56-year-old is confident he can turn their season around.
Pereira has already explained why he joined Wolves and rejected other clubs in the process, with the possibility of working with high-quality players being a decisive factor.
One of those will be Wolves talisman Matheus Cunha, who has scored eight goals in 16 appearances this term but was at risk of being suspended for the visit to Leicester City on Sunday.

Matheus Cunha will be available for Wolves trip to Leicester City
Cunha has been a shining light in a dark season for the Wanderers. Last weekend, he fired his latest strike past Ipswich Town but it wasn’t his goal that stole the headlines.
Following their defeat against the Tractor Boys, Cunha lashed out at an Ipswich security guard and ripped the glasses off his face.
As a result of his violent conduct, Cunha faced a ban from the FA and had till Thursday to issue a response.

However, these sorts of incidents usually take time to fully penalize, and the 25-year-old is expected to be available for this weekend’s relegation six-pointer, as confirmed by journalist Nathan Judah.
This is huge news Wolves, who are already without Rayan Ait-Nouri through a one-match suspension after he also lost his temper last weekend.
The role Cunha could play for Vitor Pereira
Supporters were fearing the worst ahead of their trip to the King Power Stadium, as the Brazilian is indispensable in attack, with no one capable of replicating his output.

However, since he’s now confirmed as available, Wolves will be hoping he can drag them to victory as they aim to close the gap on the Foxes to just two points.
When they kick off on Sunday afternoon, Pereira’s exciting playing style, which could see him use a 4-3-3 attack system, should see Cunha deployed in behind Jorgen Strand Larsen as usual.
The Brazilian, as seen throughout this season, is most effectively used as a second striker, floating in behind Strand Larsen with the license to drop deep, left, right or run in behind the defence.
Pereira will probably give Cunha the same tactical freedom as O’Neil did and this is a formula that’s worked, with the rest of the starting lineup now needing to step up.
