Bukayo Saka has declared that Arsenal are “not scared” of the pressure to end their 20-year wait for a Premier League title, emphasizing the team’s readiness to compete on all fronts this season.
Despite a mixed start to their league campaign, Mikel Arteta’s side sit third in the Premier League table, trailing leaders Liverpool and an in-form Chelsea by six points. The Gunners have also made progress in other competitions, sitting third in their UEFA Champions League group with a strong chance of advancing to the last 16 and securing a spot in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
However, Arsenal’s title ambitions have been slightly dented by back-to-back league draws against Fulham and Everton, extending their unbeaten run to nine matches across all competitions but leaving them winless in their last two Premier League outings.

The Gunners have narrowly missed out on league glory in the past two seasons, finishing second to Manchester City on both occasions. Saka, a crucial figure in those campaigns, remains determined to lead his boyhood club to silverware.Speaking toBBC Sport, the 22-year-old expressed confidence in the team’s ability to handle the challenges ahead. “We’re not scared. The last two seasons we’ve competed for the league and come very close,” Saka said.

Saka, who has also faced heartbreak with England in two European Championship finals, admitted that past near-misses serve as motivation for success this season.
“It’s horrible, I’ll be honest,” Saka said of falling short in major competitions. “It’s just that extra fuel for me and extra motivation. I want to get it over the line this season and try to lift the trophy, for sure.
“You work the whole season and you’re so close, you’ve literally got one hand on the trophy… and then you don’t win it. It’s like the whole year’s work and nothing to show for it.
“I know you can be proud of the season and evolution and development, but that’s why more than ever we want to take the next step and win.”
