Everton have been tipped as the Premier League club who’ve submitted a bid for PSV attacker Ricardo Pepi.
The Guardian and Forbes journalist James Nalton suggest the Blues could be the team that’s bidding for the USA international after Goal reported on 20 December an “unnamed” English top-flight club has offered £16.5million to PSV for his services.
Replying to that report in a post on X, Nalton, who has also written for BBC Sport, mentioned the Toffees, saying: “Everton could do with a striker.”
Pepi has averaged around a goal an hour in the Eredivisie with PSV this season, scoring 10 goals in 636 minutes.

It is no secret that Dyche’s side have struggled to score this season, they have scored in just one of their last six league matches, the 4-0 victory over Wolves.

The Blues find themselves in 16th place in the Premier League, just three points above the relegation zone as a result of their struggles in the attacking third.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto have only scored three goals between them in the league so far this season, the last of which was the Guinea international’s strike in the 1-1 draw with Fulham (26 October).

They seem to be trying to rectify that with links to Rangers star Hamza Igamane and Pepi emerging in the last few days.
The 21-year-old has 13 strikes in 33 appearances for the United States national team suggesting that he could find the net at the Premier League level.
It is no surprise that the Blues are being linked with attacking reinforcements, and Pepi might be the most promising link yet.
In other Everton news, Dyche has revealed that Dwight McNeil could miss the Chelsea clash on Sunday.
