Report:‘Tremendous’ loanee could now return to Chelsea in January

Chelsea are no doubt having to work hard to keep an eye on all of their loanees dotted around world football this season.

There are certainly some players who they have more hope of featuring in the future than others. Raheem Sterling for example is not in the long-term plans at Stamford Bridge.

It is the younger contingent who Chelsea have the highest hopes for, and they will have been delighted with the progress of Andrey Santos so far this season.

Santos has been named Strasbourg captain on occasion during this campaign, and has been making a real impact in front of goal this season.

Caleb Wiley could return from loan away from Chelsea

Under the same ownership as Chelsea, Strasbourg have benefitted from a number of loanees from the Blues this season, with one of them being Caleb Wiley.

The American has featured in every Ligue 1 game he has been available for so far this season, however has seen a large portion of his campaign disrupted by injury.

He is currently out with a shoulder injury, and has been unable to prove himself recently to those paying attention from Stamford Bridge.

However, according to L’Equipe, Wiley could now see his loan in France cut short, with a potential return date being January.

The piece goes on to say that this could be because another player will become available for a loan in the winter transfer window from West London.

Who could Chelsea loan to Strasbourg?

Chelsea have a number of youngsters who are already good enough to feature regularly at first team level.

Josh Acheampong has recently signed a new deal to commit his long-term future to the club, and the thought of a loan deal for him has not been ruled out in his future.

Enzo Maresca has stated that he doesn’t want Acheampong to leave on loan, however with Malo Gusto and Reece James options when fit, opportunities could be at a premium for the youngster.
