Report: Club chief welcomes bids for Spanish star as Nottingham Forest eye move

Nottingham Forest are approaching the January transfer window in a strong position, knowing that the right deal may consolidate Nuno Espirito Santo’s push for European football.

Espirito Santo’s side find themselves in the top four in the Premier League after Forest’s win over Aston Villa saw them leapfrog the struggling Manchester City.

In preparation for the January window, though, it seems that the current focus for Evangelos Marinakis is to tie down his top stars to new contracts.

Morgan Gibbs-White is in Forest contract talks, whilst Chris Wood has been offered a new Forest deal as well. With both being significant stars at Forest, it can be assumed that they will take up a decent portion of the available wage budget with their new deals.

However, for the right price, there may be one deal that Marinakis is unable to ignore, despite the player in question doing his best to stay out of any speculation.

Raul Moro tries to ‘isolate himself’ amid Nottingham Forest links

Forest have been linked with Moro, with all signs suggesting that a deal for the exciting Spanish winger would be a cheap one.

However, in an interview with Estadio Deportivo, the Real Valladolid star is adamant about not getting involved with any potential rumours about his future.

Moro said: “I try to isolate myself and I haven’t seen much; I’m focused on finishing the year here and doing well, because if you don’t do well at your club, those things will never come and my mentality is to do well here and then we’ll see.

“Since I arrived at Valladolid I have felt upward, with more and more confidence and weight and that is good for a player and that is why I think I can continue improving.”

Whilst Moro’s attitude is admirable, it seems as though his club are fairly set on cashing in on their brightest talent.

The report says: “[Real Valladolid] Sports Director Domingo Catoira recently confirmed that Valladolid will listen to offers for any players in the squad.”

If Marinakis is keen to see Moro at the City Ground, though, he must act fast as it seems that the rest of the Premier League is keen on the wide man.

Premier League elite keen on Raul Moro

It has been claimed that the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City have been keeping tabs on the Spanish winger, with all sides who admire Moro undoubtedly intrigued by Catoira’s comments.

Moro would certainly stand a better chance of making an immediate impact on the Forest squad than the other clubs linked, who would likely see the three-goal winger as a player for the future rather than the present.

With Espirito Santo frustrated with Anthony Elanga despite his goal against Villa too, Moro could find himself well within reach of a Premier League starting spot if he opted for a move to Forest.

It remains to be seen where exactly Moro ends up in January, but the comments made by his own sporting director will have piqued the interest of Espirito Santo and the Forest coaching staff.
