Bournemouth Talent Discusses Juventus Transfer and Roma

Dean Huijsen is starting to find some continuity at Bournemouth after a rocky start. He elaborated on his Juventus exit and more in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport (via Mediaset).

“Sincerely, I would have never left. It wasn’t my choice. During the first days of the summer preparation, the management and Thiago Motta told me they needed to cash in on somebody and that I had to find a solution. Still, I have no regrets. I’m increasingly happy with my adventure here each day.”

Huijsen explained how the move came to be.

“Director Tiago Pinto had brought me to Roma on loan and convinced me to join by explaining the team’s ambitious project. Everything he said in July is coming to fruition. I’m not surprised by our sixth place in the standings. We’re a loose cannon. We have an excellent coach like Andoni Iraola and many players with great potential.”

Huijsen commented on Roma.

“I’m stunned to see them in that position, but I know most of their players, and I’m convinced they’ll be back on top soon. I’ve stayed in touch with Matias Soulé. It’s not easy to blossom in such a complicated situation, but his talent is unquestionable, and he’ll manage to show it at Roma too. I’ve heard from José Mourinho and Daniele De Rossi. I owe them a lot. I’ll never forget when the former called me because he wanted me. He was always surprising.”

Huijsen was quizzed about a potential return to one of his former teams.

“I felt good in Italy and Serie A. You can never say never in football, but I’m fine at Bournemouth now.”
