West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui desperately needs a win against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Graham Potter is allegedly being lined up to replace beleaguered Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui in the West Ham hot-seat.

Should the Hammers lose to Brighton, the pressure will really crank up on Lopetegui ahead of the Southampton clash on Boxing Day.

However, a win against the Seagulls and the narrative would switch quite dramatically.

The West Ham players at least showed a bit of fight on Monday night against Bournemouth, and they’ll have to be on top of their games once again when Brighton roll into town.

Some worrying news has emerged today regarding a potential injury problem though.

However, it seems like the Hammers could be weakened for the visit of the Seagulls.

Lopetegui opened up on a mystery injury problem when speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“Today we’ve had a little problem with one player, so we have to check and assess tonight whether he will be available or not. The squad is going to be very similar, but maybe with one change.“

I’m just hoping that the injury problem doesn’t concern one of our key players like Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus or Max Kilman.

West Ham really need a win against Brighton on Saturday.

Three points would greatly ease the pressure on Julen Lopetegui.

Let’s just hope that we see the boys put in a top-class performance against the Seagulls, for the fans and Lopetegui.
