La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday been afforded some positive news on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Ferland Mendy has begun training in the gym once more.
Defender Mendy, for his part, was of course condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines earlier this month.
After featuring from the off in Real Madrid’s 3-0 La Liga downing of Girona, the Frenchman went to ground late in proceedings, with what appeared to be a muscular problem.
After being hooked from the action as a result, Mendy was put through an ensuing round of medical tests, which confirmed ‘a muscular injury to his right quadriceps’.
Less than two weeks on, though, the 29-year-old has already begun working towards an incoming return to the pitch.
This comes after Mendy was spotted back training alongside his teammates, in the gym at Valdebebas:
Sunday’s meeting with Sevilla is expected to come too soon for the left-back, but he should be fit and raring to go for Real Madrid’s rescheduled La Liga clash against Valencia following the turn of the year.
