Carlos Soler, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, appears to have found his form at West Ham United, putting the club in a difficult position.
Soler likely recognized that a change of scenery was necessary this summer to secure regular playing time. Watching Spain lift the UEFA Euro 2024 trophy may have further spurred him to get back on La Roja‘s radar.
Although several clubs showed interest in him during the summer transfer window, West Ham managed to secure his loan deal on the final day.
In October, Claret and Hugh reported that the arrangement is strictly a loan, with no obligation for West Ham to make the move permanent. A senior official at London Stadium confirmed, “Soler is just here on loan with absolutely no obligation for us to buy.”
Considering his high wages and the hefty fee PSG would demand, any transfer fee above £1 million would require board approval, making a permanent deal unlikely.
Could Carlos Soleractually stay at West Ham long-term?

This news backs up reports from Standard Sport, which indicated that Soler has been making a real impact at West Ham. The club is now considering making his loan move permanent.
West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui seems to have prioritized Soler over Paqueta, especially with the Brazilian’s future still up in the air.
