The United midfielder is set to miss several weeks.
Manchester United’s Mason Mount has released a statement after it was confirmed that he will miss several weeks with a leg injury.
Mount, 25, has failed to find form at United, with his time at the club being blighted by several injury troubles.
The latest in a string of setbacks happened 14 minutes into last Sunday’s 2-1 Manchester derby victory against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The match marked Mount’s fourth Premier League start of the campaign.
The former Chelsea man missed five months of the 2023/24 season after suffering hamstring and head injuries.
When asked about Mount, Ruben Amorim confirmed the bad news in his press conference on Friday.

"[He will be out for] several weeks,” said Amorim.
"I don't know the exact date, but it's going to be for long. And that’s it, it's part of football, and you continue."
Now, the England international has taken to social media to offer his thoughts.
"Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened," read a statement posted to his Instagram page on Friday evening.
"I knew what it meant.
"United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.
"I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved."
Fans weighed in with messages of support in the comments section of the post.
One fan said: "Every setback is a setup for a comeback!! The Theatre of Dreams will be waiting to roar his name when he return stronger than ever."
Another added: "Mason Mount‘s injury was shocking news. Hope he will recover soon."
A third commented: "Mason’s determination to push through is impressive despite the setback."
While a fourth explained: "Injuries are part of the game but it’s clear Mason is giving his all for United."
A fifth exclaimed: "Mount's message shows how much he cares about the club and fans. Respect."
