Jadon Sancho is enjoying a fruitful loan spell at Chelsea

Chelsea star Jadon Sancho has spoken about his feelings with respect to being at Stamford Bridge as he continues his loan stint from Manchester United. The 24-year-old forward signed with the Blues on deadline day in the summer after a tempestuous spell at Old Trafford.

Manchester United acquired Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 but failed to see the best of the Englishman during his time at Old Trafford. He had a messy falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag in the 2023-24 season, leading him to spend the second half of the season on loan at Dortmund. The forward appeared frozen out once more at the start of this season when Chelsea swooped in and signed him on loan with an obligation to buy.

A boyhood Chelsea fan, Jadon Sancho has had a more than satisfactory start to life at Stamford Bridge, with two goals and three assists in 10 league appearances. He spoke about his support of the club as a youngster, and how Enzo Maresca's conviction to work with him convinced him to join the club.

“I always supported Chelsea as a kid because of Lampard and Drogba, and speaking to Enzo Maresca before I came here, he was determined to work with me,” he added.

Sancho scored in two of his last three league appearances for the Blues, including a belter to kickstart their comeback against Tottenham Hotspur this month. The former Manchester City prodigy also provided a pair of assists in his only game in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season at Heidenheim.

Chelsea will be required to pay a reported fee of only £25 million to Manchester United for Jadon Sancho if they finish above 15th in the Premier League this season. With the Blues in second place presently, they are unlikely to miss out on the signing of the tricky forward.

Former Chelsea star sees woes continue at Manchester United after latest injury

Former Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is set for another spell on the sidelines after picking up another injury for the Red Devils. The English midfielder was forced off in the first half of the Manchester derby on Sunday after picking up an injury.

Mount left Chelsea for Manchester United in a £55 million switch in 2023 but has played just eight times in the Premier League since arriving at Old Trafford. The 25-year-old midfielder's absence was confirmed by coach Ruben Amorim during his press conference on Friday. He said (via FootBoom):

“I can't pinpoint an exact return date, but he is going to be out for a considerable period. In football, these things happen, and we must move forward. My responsibility is to support Mason and help him understand our style of play during his recovery.”

“We are all here to assist ‘Mase’ as he navigates this tough period. It’s incredibly challenging for him to be sidelined for so long, but he is putting in tremendous effort to get back on the pitch."

Mason Mount was known for his durability during his time at Stamford Bridge but appears to have become quite injury-prone. The Englishman will miss several weeks of action for Manchester United due to his latest setback.
