The USMNT star has been in Turin since 2020 and seemed destined for the exit several times only to always win his place back in the side.

He signed a new contract in August that runs to June 2026 and was asked about his future today as he handed out gifts in Turin as part of his McKennie’s Magical Youth Mission project.

“I am happy at Juve, I like living in Turin, I’ve been here for four years and want to stay for as long as possible, but it also depends on the club,” he told the Corriere dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia.

“I don’t even know if we have started talking about a contract renewal.”

McKennie has proved his versatility over the years, but never more so than in the Coppa Italia victory over Cagliari where he was turned into a makeshift left-back to fill the gaps.

“As long as I get to play, I don’t mind, I’ll even go in goal. I had actually started out with Allegri on the wing.”

How does the American manage to keep beating the odds with his Juventus experience?

“When I first arrived, I was told Juve would be too big for me, but I do everything I can to change people’s minds.”

McKennie has already taken one big step towards confirming his stay in Turin by now giving interviews in Italian.

Juventus have been rather unexpected in general so far this season, beating Manchester City in the Champions League only to draw in Serie A with Lecce and Venezia.

“We don’t lose, but there have been a few too many draws. Now we just want to concentrate on the next match against Monza and play as if we were up against Manchester City. After that, we can focus on Fiorentina and in Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa.”
